Honda Element Antennas

The Element by Honda is designed for adventure, and antennas are iintended to provide you with entertainment on those adventures. Ranging from AM/FM to satellite and GPS, theres a model to suit any need. You can find them in a variety of designs, shapes, and sizes.

What is an antenna, and what does it do?

An antenna is a part or tool that is designed to pick up on radio waves originating from various locations. It acts as a receiver and collects the radio waves that are being produced by a transmitter elsewhere. After receiving these waves, it sends them to your Elements radio receiver. When the radio receives the information, it is amplified through your radio and speakers.

There are different types of these parts that are created to receive various kinds of waves and signals although AM/FM-receiving models are the option you’ll see on most vehicles. These parts are typically located or placed on the exterior of the car, on either the trunk, roof, fender, or window. They can not only vary in location and function but also size, shapes, and styles.

What type does your Honda Element need?

There are many reasons your Element may need a new antenna. If you notice the reception in your Honda is not as good or notice the actual part is rusted or corroded, you may need a replacement. The qualities you need or want will determine the model you need. Automatic ones that retract are ideal for keeping the part out of weather and the elements, but satellite or TV-receivers offer your Honda varying or higher frequencies received. There are also in-dash types that are always safe while you drive and may have different frequency ranges.

What types can you find for the Element?

There are a variety of antennas you can find for your Honda Element.

  • The more typical type found on vehicles are called monopoles, or whip, antennas. These may come in a variety of sizes, but they usually pick up only on AM/FM frequencies, and they resemble a long pole. They can be inflexible or fold in and out like a telescope. Whip antenna products also include the ability to automatically extend and retract.
  • There are also many other types that are created to receive different frequencies. Satellite options can deliver the signals and stations received from satellites while other products are designed to receive broadcast television, pick up on your GPS location, or even boost the signal to your cellphone through cell tower signals.
