Preserve the History: Classic Nova Back in Style on eBay

The Chevy Nova is often considered a landmark project in the history of General Motors due to its short duration and the success of the final product. The car was produced to deliver maximum efficiency and power without sacrificing style. You can experience this legendary vehicle by buying an inexpensive used Chevy Nova for sale on eBay.

The original 1962 model

The original 1962 model was introduced as the Chevy II to distinguish the stylish new Nova from its predecessors. For collectors, the 1962 model is a highly sought-after item due to its legendary status. Three models were initially released: Chevy II 100, Chevy II 300, and Chevy II Nova 400. The convertible Nova 400 was equipped with a powerful I6 engine.

The later version came with a six-cylinder 120 horsepower engine. Anyone who did not want a three-speed gearbox could select a two-speed power glide. Do not be surprised if you find a V-8 engine Chevy Nova for sale by owner that has 360 horsepower because some of the dealerships were known to offer customization for the 1962 model.

Models of Chevy Nova

Five generations of the Nova car continued the legacy of the original model introduced in 1962. Despite the generational gap, there is little difference in the power and transmission of Chevy Nova cars as each generation offered V-8 engines and a variety of transmission modes. The first generation was marketed between 1962 and 1965, which was followed briefly by the second-generation Novas in 1966 and 1967. There is no significant difference among these generations except a larger frame introduced in the second-generation cars.

In contrast, the third-generation vehicles were fully redesigned, which is visible by the stylish Chevy Nova Coupe. The styling is also imminent in the fourth generation of Nova produced between 1975 and 1979. The focus on luxury is reflected in the Chevrolet Nova LN 1975 model. Similarly, the fifth-generation Nova is a compact version of the earlier models relaunched between 1985 and 1988.

The classic Nova SS

In 1968, Chevy introduced another classic known as the Nova Super Sport. This is a rare model because it was specifically produced for racing and sports car enthusiasts. Equipped with heavy-duty performance mechanics, the car was powered by a V-8 engine that could produce 295 horsepower.

Two other V-8 versions were also available for buyers looking for more thrust. Known as big blocks, they could produce 350 and 375 horsepower. Both came with additional options, including the ability to choose between four-speed manual transmission or the Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission. According to unofficial records, only 5,571 Nova SS Coupes were produced in 1968. You may find one such Nova for sale on eBay.
