Car and Truck Exterior Mirrors for GMC C7500 Topkick

The GMC Topkick C7500 is a big truck designed for hauling long trailers. It has large side mirrors positioned on exterior arms to enable the driver to see around the rear of the vehicle. Replacing these mirrors on a regular basis is an important part of maintaining the safety and efficiency of the GMC C7500 vehicle, and the process can be performed in about 30 minutes by one person with a minimal set of tools.

How do you replace the side mirrors on a Topkick?

These C7500 mirrors are encased in a plastic housing assembly attached to a steel-reinforced arm. The arm is bolted to the frame of the vehicle between the engine compartment and interior cabin.

  1. Use a socket wrench to loosen the bolts securing the arm to the frame of the vehicle and then remove the housing from the side of the truck.
  2. Use a screwdriver to pry off the plastic cap covering the bolt under the mirror at the end of the arm and then loosen the bolt with a wrench.
  3. Remove the mirrors from the plastic housing and replace them with the new products.
  4. Tighten the bolt, securing the housing to the arm, and then replace the plastic cap covering the bolt.
  5. Tighten the bolts, securing the arm to the C7500 vehicles frame.
Are the mirrors identical to the original parts?

The mirrors and housing assemblies are designed to look and function exactly the same as the original heavy duty GMC C7500 parts. They feature the same size, shape, and construction as the GMC originals, so replacing your existing mirrors with these products will help to restore your Topkick to factory condition.

Do the mirrors include the plastic housing assembly?

GMC products with or without the arm and mirror housing cover exist, so you can replace individual parts as they become damaged or worn out. The mirrors are able to swivel 360 degrees, so the left and right arms are interchangeable. One complete mirror kit may include enough parts to repair damage to both sides of your GMC vehicle.

How often should GMC Topkick C7500 mirrors be replaced?

Because these mirrors are exposed to wind, rain, and other elements every time you drive your GMC, they must be replaced more often than interior mirrors. If the glass is cracked or the arm or housing are damaged, these mirrors should be replaced right away to reduce the risk of an accident. Over time, the mirrors become faded and scratched from exposure to particles in the air and corrosive elements in the rain. If they no longer reflect objects clearly when driving your C7500, they should be replaced.
