How do you install window visors on a Kia Sportage?Installing a rain guard/visor on a Kia Sportage involves only a few steps. Begin by cleaning the door moulding where the visor will be installed and allow it to dry. Next, expose two inches of the adhesive tape near the front of the visor. Place the edge of the visor against the edge of the doorframe (near the side-view mirror). Slowly peel back the covering on the adhesive tape, pressing the visor against the vehicle surface while you move along. Finish by pressing along the edge of the visor to verify that the adhesive has completely held to the surface. Some models of visors will include clips for a more secure installation. These models will still use the adhesive backing described previously. The clips are placed between the Kia frame and weather stripping before sticking the visor in place. They are then fastened with locking pins.
How do you add side moulding to a Kia Sportage?Begin by cleaning the area where you plan on sticking the moulding. Consult the installation sheet for proper measurements for the product location along the side of your Kia and mark it. Use some tape to connect these marks, giving you a straight line to keep the moulding aligned properly. If the kit came with alcohol pads or other cleaning materials, use these to clean the area on your Sportage that the adhesive will stick. Run the adhesive promoter, if supplied, along the point of application. Peel back two inches of adhesive covering on each end of the moulding and then place the strip on the surface of your Kia, keeping it aligned with the tape. Slowly peel the liner from under the strip and press into place. Wipe down the moulding with a cloth while firmly pressing it down to help seal the adhesive to the side of your Kia Sportage.
