How to Secure a Replacement Battery For Your Phone

You can order a new battery for use in your LG G2 smartphone in the event your old one runs out. You must look at how well your battery is laid out and the features that come with it as well as how to replace the battery.

What Should Your Battery Feature?

Your LG G2 battery needs to meet the appropriate standards:

  • Lithium-ion design. A Li-ion battery provides you with a more energy in a smaller body. That is, the energy density is high. The power source should also have no memory effect issues and should not self-discharge itself all that much when compared with a NiMH battery.
  • 3,000 mAh. The Li-ion battery should have a capacity of 3,000 mAh. This provides the phone with up to 29 days of standby power and around 18 hours of talk time on the full charge.
  • Proper coating. A secure coating should be included on top of this just like what you would get out of the original unit.

How to Get Your Battery Replaced

The process for getting your replacement battery installed into your LG cell phone is as follows:

  1. Use a spudger to remove the back cover from your phone. Apply this to the bottom corner for the desired results.
  2. Unscrew the screws with a Phillips #00 screwdriver. Be sure to keep a note of where the silver, gold, and black screws are located before you remove them so you know which ones go in the right spots when you put the phone back together.
  3. Remove the top plastic cover off of the phone with the spudger after the screws are removed.
  4. Remove the bottom cover. You should see the LG G2 motherboard at this point.
  5. Loosen up the motherboard connectors with your spudger. Be sure you do not remove those connectors altogether.
  6. Watch for the smaller board with cables on the sides of the battery. Remove that small board with the spudger, but watch for how the wires and connectors are laid out.
  7. Peel the bottom part of the left cable so it is no longer connected to the side. Be cautious so you do not break this.
  8. Remove the control board on the bottom part of the phone. Disconnect both connecting points and the antenna links next to them.
  9. At this point, the battery should be easy to remove. Clear this out of the smartphone and add the replacement into its body.
  10. Use the prior steps in reverse to put the LG phone back together.

Be extremely cautious when getting this part on the LG G2 replaced. The key is to ensure all parts are kept together without possibly losing anything.
