GMC Acadia Tailgates and Liftgates

Tailgates and liftgates are a functional way to maximize the space in your GMC Acadia when you need to move or deliver items in your SUV. They are easy to install, and since they are placed inside the vehicle, they are protected from the weather. By using tailgates and liftgates on your GMC Acadia, youll make loading, transporting, and unloading cargo easier and faster.

Liftgates are extra closures at the back of a vehicle that can mechanically be raised and lowered to load and unload cargo youre transporting. Tailgates are hinged hatches or boards, also at the rear of the vehicle, that can be lowered down to load and unload transported goods or items.

• Ensure that your Acadia is in park. Find the liftgate controls in the drivers door and set to 3/4.
• Push the liftgate control button to open the gate.
• Once the gate comes to a stop, manually adjust it to open less or more.
• Once the desired arrangement is achieved, press and hold the gates button at the edge of the gate itself until the hazard lights on your vehicle flash.
